WHAT?!?! You don’t drink and smoke? Don’t tell me you’re still a virgin? What planet are you from?
It is true what they say that when you become a Christian you will definitely be persecuted.
I was talking to my sister last night. She told me the struggles of her husband in Japan. They would often look down on him and find him weird because he is not smoking, drinking, and not even interested in dating other women while her wife is away. My in-law finds it so annoying and irritating (who wouldn’t?). But you know, I realized that in the long run those very people that harass him will surely be curious who God is if he would continue his walk with the Lord.
Acts 24:1-27
When Paul was sent to court, they laid down their charges against him. We have found this man troublesome, stirring up riots among the Jews (v 5). Paul defended himself. You can easily verify… I went up to Jerusalem to worship. My accusers did not find me arguing…stirring up a crowd (v 11). However, I admit that I worship the God of our Fathers as a follower of the Way (v 14). So what happened next? He [the governor] sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about his faith in Jesus Christ (v 24).
What am I saying here? Do not be influenced by the people persecuting you. Ignore them and just obey God’s Word. Easier said than done? Don’t worry it’s not your battle. It is God’s!
